Located in New Delhi, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) is amongst the prominent architectural institutes in the country offering several courses in the related fields of Architecture. SPA started off in 1941, as the Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic at Kashmere Gate. Subsequently in 1959, it was renamed ad as School of Planning and Architecture and affiliated to the University of Delhi. Owing to the schools contribution and eminence in the specialized nature of the fields, the Government of India, through the Ministry of Education and Culture conferred the status of Deemed to be University on SPA.
