VVIT was established in the year 2007, under Social Educational Trust in Nambur village, Pedakakani mandal of Guntur district by Mr. Vasireddy Vidya Sagar the eldest son of Late Sri Vasireddy Appa Rao. VVIT has self contained infrastructure located amidst the lush greenery of paddy and maize fields of Nambur located strategically between Guntur and Vijayawada.
VVIT has an intake capacity of 840 students B.Tech, (Under Graduate Engineering Program) 120 students into 6 M.Tech Programs and 60 students into an MCA program. The B.Tech Program is offered in six disciplines namely Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology. The post graduate programms are offered in Computer Science and Engineering, Very Large Scale Integration, Power Electronics, Machine Design and Structural Engineering.
VVIT has emerged as one of the top three Engineering Colleges from the 200 engineering colleges affiliated to the J N T U Kakinada.
