About Assam Down Town University clear:both Assam down town University was established on 29th April 2010 by the down town Charity Trust. It is the second private university in the north-east. The necessity of a private university has been felt since long time, as students have to go to other parts of India. In 2011, the following disciplines, namely Engineering with Five Branches, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health, Hotel Management and many more courses are to be started. All these disciplines are equipped with most modern methodologies for teaching. There are 100 plus faculties running 354 courses and 2000 plus students are already undertaking their courses. The down town Charity Trust was formed in 1997 by the down town hospital Ltd. for the underprivileged and deprived section of the society. It has a renowned name in the healthcare industry, serving the people of Assam and the North Eastern Region with its expertise for the last 23 years Assam down town University Facilities Hostel Facilities The University campus has three separate hostel blocks both for boys and girls. Library Facilities The University has a Central library spread over 8000 plus sq.ft. plus Departmental Library Canteen Facilities There are a neat and clean food in Canteen for the students. It has well built and equipped playgrounds including football field, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis courts and swimming pool.
