The Institute
NERIM, North Eastern Regional Institute of Management is a Post Graduate College established in the year 1992 by NERIM Educational Society. The Department of Technical Education, Government of Assam, initially extended its active support for the establishment of this institute with a view to promote Management and Computer Education in the North Eastern Region of the Country. The Prime objective of the institute is to design and formulate need based academic and professional programmes independently as well as in collaboration with other leading Management Institute and Universities. From the very inception, NERIM has been imparting teaching and training to the young educated people in the skills that find ready employment in an era of high unemployment and career uncertainty. NERIM thereby is committed to contribute to various needs of the cross-sections of the society by producing trained young professionals in the prospective fields of Management, Computer & Information Technology, Social Work, Juridical Studies, etc. In keeping track with its objective NERIM offers its signature programs - Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) in accordance to Dibrugarh University curriculum which are also approved by AICTE. Apart from these NERIM also offers Masters Programs in Social Work and Law, and undergraduate Programs such as 3 yr full time BBA, BCA, B.Com and 5 yr integrated BALLB (Hons) Programs.
Apart from the Dibrugarh University Courses, NERIM also offers regular classes for DOEACC-A level course and various other programmes under AIMA and IGNOU including 2-year PGDM (equivalent to MBA). The Institution is only nodal Center of All India Management Association (AIMA) in North Eastern Region. As being the Partner Institute, NERIM is conducting 3-year BCA Programme of IGNOU since 1998. Today NERIM has emerged as a Centre of Excellence for Professional Education in the field of Management Education, Computer Science & Information Technology, and Law. NERIM is also sponsoring Dr. Anita Baruah Sarmah College of Education which is duly approved by NCTE.
