National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal is a centrally funded government institute established in 1960. The institute was established by the joint collaboration of Government of India and Government of Karnataka. Started as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), NIT Surathkal was accorded with the status of a Deemed University in 2002 and also renamed as National Institute of Technology. The institute imparts various engineering programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. NIT Surathkal has state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure overall development of its students within the campus
