The lush green Maharishi Markandeshwar University spread over an area of 47 acres with exotic surroundings of green hills is ideally located on Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway at Sultanpur Road, Solan (H.P.) in the lap of the `devbhoomi` of great Himalayan. Established as a Multi faculty University in the name of the Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji, a great disciple of Lord Shiva, the foundation stone of the University was laid by the Hon`ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal Ji on 22 February 2009. With his blessings, the University has been operational with effect from the academic session 2010-11 with the admissions to the School of Engineering & Technology, School of Computer Technology and School of Business Management.
