Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Higher Studies (NMIMS) is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The university was established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal Educational Trust. NMIMS commenced its academic activities by starting the Masters Degree Program in Management Studies. The institution is the first business school to be accredited and awarded a five star rating by the UGC sponsored National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Higher Studies) was accorded the status of Deemed University in January 2003.
It has also been awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification. The institute provides its students courses in the management field at the Postgraduate level. These include MBA in Core Program, Pharmaceuticals Management, Capital Markets, Actuarial Science, Global Business, Retail Management, Services Management and Social Entrepreneurship (Part time).
