Dattajirao Kadam Techology Education Society`s Textile & Engineering Institute was incepted in 1982 in Kolhapur in Maharashtra. It imparts technical education in various branches of engineering, at various degree levels. The three-year diploma programme offered by the institute is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. Besides, all under graduate and post graduate programmes are affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur.
D.K.T.E Societys Textile & Engineering Institute has gained the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and from Director of Technical Education, Mumbai. Few of its under graduate programmes along with diploma in Textile Manufactures have got the accreditation status.
