St. Andrews College is the result of the thoughtfulness of a few visionaries under the leadership of His Eminence Simon Cardinal Pimenta. It was founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Bombay (Mumbai) primarily, but not exclusively, for the Catholic community. St. Andrews College, being under the jurisdiction and control of the Archbishop of Bombay (Mumbai), enjoys the status of a minority educational institution.

We were privileged to have Nobel Laureate Mother Teresa unveil the plaque that heralded the beginning of St. Andrews College of Arts, Science and Commerce on 1st January 1981. After gaining permission from the Government of Maharashtra and the University of Mumbai, the degree college was inaugurated on 9th July 1983. We have come a long way since then and today are able to offer our students good infrastructure, experience faculty, efficient administration and a wide repertoire of courses.
