Peace Educational Society sponsored, SAMATHA DEGREE COLLEGE, affliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad, has entered the 16th year of guiding the young and eager minds to their preferred destinations. Mentored over the years by the well conceived academic policies and principles set up by senior prefessors and academicians, the college has established a tradition of excellence in various realms of youth activity.
Sports and Extracurricular activities
Be it in Academics or in sports, SAMATHA has left its marks. In the current academics or in sports, SAMATHA won laurels by bagging the O.U. Inter Collegiate Weight Lifting Championship. In the Inter-collegiate Carroms Championship 2007-2008 held at L.B.Stadium, the students won both the team events and individual events.
Infrastructure
The college takes pride in its spacious premises with the modern infrastructure including a vast library with a collection of authentic material and reference books and sophisticated computer labs equipped with 200 high end pentium IV systems. The dedication of the talented faculty, besides the unstinting support of the non-teaching staff have helped the institution to thrive in realizing the ideals for which it was established.
Placements and Career Guidance
Realizing the need to bridge the gap between the industry and academia SAMATHA started the placement and career guidance cell which has been quite active over the past 6 years, The college has an impressive number of selections in the major IT and ITES companies like WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, HSBC, GENPACT, SYNTEL, DELOITTE etc, Campus recruitment training is given to the students to improve their employable skills. Almost 20 students got selected in 2008-09 academic year.
In keeping with its tradition of excellence, the college has set up the Computer Aided Language learning lab which focuses on improving students listening and speaking skills. The well trained faculty trains the students in equipping the communication skills. LCD projectors are being used by the faculty to faciliate the learning. Career oriented Audio and VIdeo programs are screened to the students every week. To enable the students to discover their innate talent and chisel it to perfection the language and culture department conducts cultural events every year.
With such an environment conductive to learning and experiencing SAMATHA has emerged as the preferred choice of students at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Levels
