Dr BC Roy Engineering College in Durgapur was set up in 2000 in memory of Durgapur based philanthropic and entrepreneur Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. The institute was initially affiliated to University of Burdwan, for the session 2000-01. However, from 2001-2002 onwards, the affiliation of the college was shifted to West Bengal University of Technology. Courses offered by the college are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. Several courses conducted by Dr BC Roy Engineering College are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). -
