Golden Regency Institute of Hospitality Management (GRIHM) is formed through a strategic collaboration with Regency Institute of Tafe, Government of South Australia and the Gujral group of hotels. The Gujral group is one of the leading hotel groups in the eastern part of the country. This group has three star category hotels in India, viz. Hotel Golden Park in Kolkata, Hotel Golden Retreat in Haldia and
Tuli International in Nagpur, Maharashtra. In addition this company also was the owner of two stand alone restaurants in the name of Golden Harvest & China Valley, which were ranked as best stand alone restaurants in the eastern India for two consecutive years.
Mr Bhupinder Singh Gujral is the Managing Director of the above group and Golden Regency International Centre for Hospitality Management (GRIHM) is the result of honest desire to produce future hoteliers by providing best possible education along with in-house day to day training programme in the real life situation.
GRIHM being a unit of a competent hotelier organization, has been able to create an atmosphere and infrastructure that suits exactly the need for hospitality education and training. Students of this institute are allowed to undergo training on daily basis in different areas of the hotel along with attending regular theory and practical classes. To make this training programme more effective, this institute has provided hostel accommodation to the students adjoining the institute building.
GRIHM is a unit of the registered society named ‘Golden Regency’. The management of this institute is governed by a Governing body, of which Mr Bhupinder Singh Gujral is the President and Mr Achintya Kr Dey, Director of Studies, is the Secretary.
GRIHM has arrived into a licensed agreement with the Regency Institute of Tafe, South Australia, in year 2002, in respect of providing suitable education to the students for obtaining following certificate and facility:
• 3 year Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management.
• Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management – 3 years in India and one year in Adelaide.
• Credit Transfer to Regency Institute of Tafe from 3rd semester onwards.
GRIHM, being the first off shore campus of Regency Institute of Tafe, providing Hospitality Management programme internationally, has developed Training manual and students handouts for certain subjects on behalf of Regency Institute of Tafe, South Australia, viz Indian Cuisine, Tourism and Legal studies (on Indian context).
Golden Regency is totally committed to quality and flexibility of training and education on and off the campus and the faculty maintain industry credibility by returning to industry on a regular basis. Golden Regency believes in imparting training in various spheres of hospitality industry through first hand real life situations. This has been made possible by deputing students to various areas of activities of day to day operations of their hotels The Golden Retreat in Haldia and Golden Park in Kolkata.

To keep parity with the academic standard of Regency Hotel School, ‘Academic Audit’ is carried out by the parent institute on regular basis. The major areas checked by them at the time of academic audit are as follows:
Observing regular classes conducted by the teachers.
Conducting faculty development programmes.
Reviewing the documents regarding regular faculty development programmes conducted in the institute.
Checking students attendance.
Checking teachers log books.
Hours of classes conducted on different subjects as per their specification.
Checking the overall infrastructure & facilities of the institute.
Checking the compliance of the credentials of the faculty as per their norms.
Taking feedback from the students regarding the institute academic activities and facilities, under closed door situation, on printed materials
