Our Management
Sarvajanik Education Society, a premier educational institution established in Surat in 1912 with the management of just one secondary school, then known as the English school (Dhingali School Dolls School) is today 100 years old and has under its care 35 institutions imparting education from pre-school level to post graduate level covering variety of disciplines including engineering and management education. Society also has under its umbrella two research institutions one for Languages and social sciences and one for Environmental Engineering.
Right from its inception the Sarvajanik Education Society has survived and thrived, solely on the charity of philanthropic institutions and individuals. Its objective as incorporated in its constitution is to spread education among people at affordable cost. Thus, Sarvajanik Education Society is one of those rare institutions, which keep profit motive out of their operative fields and activities. Even then, it has made constant and steady progress. Thanks to the wholehearted support of its well-wishers of this region, in various parts of India and abroad. A very large number of its past students have settled abroad and in acknowledgement of the education they received at Sarvajanik Education Society, continue to extend their help, in every respect.
The Sarvajanik Education Society has always enjoyed high reputation, public faith for its noble traditions of honest, transparent and democratic management. It has earned people’s trust that every farthing given to it is well used for the benefit of people and the future generation.
The long journey of these 100 years was not smooth. Sarvajanik Education Society witnessed many vicissitudes, particularly in its financial position; and the 2006 unprecedented floods caused the hardest ever blow. However we have fortunately overcome all the repercussion of this natural calamity and set our institutes once again towards academic growth. The unprecedented floods caused irreparable loss to our historically rich and reputed library as major portion of the treacle of its books, masterpieces and rare works of literature were washed out.
In the last one and a half decade, the Society has taken a huge stride towards modernizing its education and meaningfully enhanced and widened its magnitude. Considering the future advances in technology for education.
The Social needs and expectations in respect of education are ever expanding and newer avenues of development have to be explored for a healthy and socially relevant growth of education for tomorrow. The Sarvajanik Education Society is therefore striving to recognize the changing needs and to organize its affairs accordingly with full confidence as it had in the past, our donors and well-wishers will help the Society with wholehearted generosity in our Endeavor.
The Society has inherited glorious past with its monumental buildings and great campuses. Over the century requires repairs and maintenance and so are the campuses. With ever increasing cost this has become an uphill task but we need to do it. Society has embarked upon this renovation project for all its campuses and buildings. T&TV Sarvajanik High School Nanpura, the oldest institute, having celebrated its 125th Anniversary, stands like a new building giving the gothic structure a brand new look. The entire credit goes to the Alumni Association of the School.
Society has always tried to keep pace with changing times and the need of the hour is introduction of new technology in education. Society has modernized its schools and the state of the art interactive educational aids have been introduced.
Over this journey of 100 years, many dreams have become reality and many are in the pipe line. The journey for education never ends but the quest always continues. New leadership with new ideas and new young team is always eager to implement them. Like Tennyson’s Brook, Men may come and Men may go but Society will continue to spread the light of knowledge time immemorial and will serve the country in shaping the future of thousands of future citizens of India for many centuries to come.
Our Institute
This college is established & developed with the donations from many organizations, one of them is Shree Ramkrishna Charitable Trust. By providing solid academic foundation, the rigorous curriculum, it prepares you to successfully complete your programme. You will study in State of the art laboratories and lecture rooms. You will also get personalized academic support and guidance of caring faculty for teaching & learning. The college will remain open from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m.
Our affiliation
The institute is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University since 1999 for all the courses time to time till today. It has already been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) as B Grade with 2.67 CGPA and applying for re-accreditation by NAAC. Our future planning to have a recognized laboratory by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) or Department of Science & Industrial Research (DSIR).
