The degree course in Mechanical Engineering was started in 2010. The department is fully equipped to meet the requirements of B. Tech course as per curriculum of West Bengal University of Technology. It has qualified and experienced faculty and staff of the many engineering disciplines, Mechanical Engineering is an interdisciplinary, challenging, rewarding, and highly respected profession. Its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. Mechanical engineers are employed in an enormous range of technical areas including: acoustics, air-conditioning, automatic controls, computer-aided design, energy management, fluid dynamics, tribology, robotics, biomechanics, and turbo machinery etc. Dr. Dipak Kumar Mandal is presently acting as the head of the department.
