The main focus of the programme is on the courses like, Design of Steel structures, Structural analysis, Design of Concrete structures, Design Of Bridges & Masonry Structures, Fluid mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Irrigation & Flood Control, Engineering Geology ,Engineering / Building Drawing, Surveying, Geo-technical Engineering, Hydrology, Hydro Power Engineering and Transportation Engineering. In addition, the Department offers instructions in various advanced courses like Advanced Structural Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Earthquake resistant Designs, Rock Mechanics & Tunneling Technology, Transportation Planning & Economics and Operation Research.

Candidates seeking admission for this programme should have passed Higher Secondary Part II (10+2) from any institution recognized by J&K State board Of school education or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subjects at 10+2 level and also appeared in JEE Main (Paper -I) 2014 or equivalent.
