- The department was established in 2004 and offers Bachelors and Masters programmes in Computer Applications. The department also offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes. The academic emphasis is on the all round personality development of the student combining theoretical, application and general skills. An MoU with Globarena, Hyderabad enables students to hone their soft skills for excellent campus placements. The curriculum is frequently revised to suit the changing needs of IT Industry.
In addition, the department is an authorized education partner for ORACLE India private Limited for conducting Workforce Development Program (WDP) under which the students and the faculty are trained for OCA (Oracle Certified associates), which helps students to find immediate placement with better compensation.
The Placement record is impressive with most of the eligible students receiving placements in IT sector like TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, HP, HCL, MINDTREE, YAHOO, CAPGEMINI, etc. The compensation package ranges from Rs. 3.50 lakh to 11.00 lakh per annum.
The Department has 5 Research Projects in the area of Data Engineering which is also the thrust area for research in the department. Faculty members publish regularly their research results in National & International journals with high impact factor.
