  • Dental College, Rohtak is a part of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. This is the only Dental College in the state of Haryana owned by the State Govt. and fully aided by the Govt.

            The College was started in the year 1981 with intake of 20 student in BDS Course and now from the year 2001, the admission capacity in BDS Course has been increased to 60 students. The reservation Policy for admission to BDS Course is being adopted as per Haryana Govt. instructions issued from time to time.

    In addition, the Postgraduate MDS Courses are being run in the following Specialties :-

    1.                Conservative Dentistry

    2.                Pedodontics

    3.                Periodontics

    4.                Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

    5.                Prosthodontics

    The reservation policy settled by Govt. of India as well as Govt. of Haryana for admission to Post Graduate Course is also being adopted while making admission to various MDS course.

    The following clinical departments are being run at Govt. Dental College, Rohtak wherein Outdoor Patients are treated:-

    1.                Endodontics and Conservative Dentistry

    2.                Orthodontics

    3.                Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

    4.                Pedodontics

    5.                Periodontics

    6.                Preventive & Community Dentistry

    Dental College, Rohtak is catering the need of the patients  both General & specialized treatment such as Endodontics, fixed Orthodontics treatment, Orthogenathic Surgery, Crown & Bridge Procedure, Periodontics Surgery, Implants etc. are being performed in different departments. The department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery provides round the clock services and is  having a 25 bedded ward for Indoor treatment. During the year 2005-06 a total no. of 1,10,957 patients have been treated in various outdoor patients departments and 533 no. of patients have been treated as Indoor Patients.

    Preventive & Community Dentistry department has been assigned duties for  various Primary Health Centers where Doctors visits rural areas for providing treatment to need patients and also provides Dental Health Education to Rural Areas Population.

            Dental College, Rohtak has sufficient teaching Staff for undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses as laid down by the Dental Council of India.
