- Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Department was started at the time of inception of the college in 1985, is now offering B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech. Programme in ‘Thermal Sciences & Energy systems’ and ‘CAD/CAM’. Mechanical Engg. is a very broad field that provides opportunities for interesting and challenging work in every phase of modern technology. The curriculum is so designed to give the students a thorough knowledge in the fundamental principles of Engg. & Science. The department is equipped with state of art resources to enrich the knowledge and ensure high quality education to the students. Well equipped laboratories, Balanced curriculum, Dedicated faculty, Practical hands on experience contribute to the evermore pressing needs of the industry. Department developed the necessary infrastructure for undergraduate and graduate courses. Now the department is concentrating on research and development and industry - institute interaction. We have latest softwares like PLM, AUTOCAD, ANSYS, CATIA, CADIAN, MECHANICAL DESKTOP, INVENTOR, ESPRIT CAM, and MASTER CAM. We have two CNC machines in CAM lab. VISION To develop the department into a model center of education and research in the field of Mechanical Engineering and allied areas and to contribute to the development of industry and society. MISSION Mechanical Engineering Department strives to transform its students into Confident, Professionally Sound and Socially Responsible Engineers who can meet the challenges of advancing technology and work for the betterment of mankind. Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) The educational objectives of the under-graduate programme in Mechanical Engineering at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering (Autonomous) Kurnool are to prepare graduates to possess the ability P1. to apply a broad, fundamental-based knowledge, and up-to-date skills required in performing professional work in Mechanical Engineering and related disciplines P2. to design works pertaining to Mechanical Engineering, incorporating the use of design standards, realistic constraints and consideration of the economic,environmental, and social impact of the design P3. to use modern computer software tools to solve Mechanical Engineering problems and explain and defend their solutions and communicate effectively using graphic, verbal and written techniques to all audiences and P4. to pursue a career in a private or governmental organization as a leader or enter graduate programs in Mechanical Engineering and related disciplines and to pursue lifelong learning and research. Programme Outcomes (POs) The outcomes of the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering (Autonomous) Kurnool are to make the students attain. a. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science & engineering. b. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. c.
