About the course:
The course of study of B.Pharma I, II, III and Final year will include the respective theory and practical subjects as given in the syllabus in university website . The number of hours to be devoted to each theory, tutorial and practical subjects in an academic year will not be less than that noted in university website .
Duration of course:
The course of B.Pharma will extend over a period of four academic years. The curricula and syllabi for the course will be prescribed from time to time by TN Dr.MGR Medical University.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION :
Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes for admission to the B. Pharmacy course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks. Not less than 50% aggregate marks in the above subjects is mandatory at the qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study i.e.10 + 2 pattern of education.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology (or) Mathematics both in Theory & Practical with a minimum of 35% marks and with not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects.
A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories for admission to the course.

Candidates qualified in the Diploma in Pharmacy examination conducted by the Board of Examinations of the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other Board of any other State recognized as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University.
OTHER CRITERIA
Wherever the State Board / Body or appropriate authority have taken into account only the Plus Two level marks to determine the class of the candidate and issue the statement of marks accordingly, it alone would be taken into consideration.
Wherever the State Board / Body or appropriate authority have taken into account the marks obtained at the Plus one and Plus two levels to determine the class of the candidate the aggregate of the two examinations shall be taken into consideration.
Candidates who have studied abroad and have passed the equivalency qualification as determined by the Association of Indian Universities will form the guidelines to determine the eligibility and must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany & Zoology or Mathematics in 12thStandard Level with 50% marks aggregate and with pass in English language. It is mandatory that the Candidate gets35% marks in English and individual pass marks with a minimum of 35% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics.
Regarding any criteria not covered under the above provisions, the ruling of the Eligibility Committee / BOS-Pharmacy / SAB / GC regulations shall be adopted.
QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO DIRECT II YEAR B. PHARMACY COURSE
Should have aggregate of 50% marks in the First and Second year D. Pharmacy Examination with a pass in HSC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) or Mathematics.
OR
Minimum qualifying marks in 10+2 examination as per Regulation (1a) above with pass in two year D. Pharmacy course.
AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION:
Should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31stDecember of the year of admission to the first year B.Pharm course.

M.Pharm
A post graduate course run by CCP and is affiliated to TN Dr.MGR Medical University. The requirement for admission is a B.Pharm from any recognised university of India with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of 4 years).
Further, Pharmacy teachers having recognised B.Pharma qualification and with minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in an institution approved ay AICTE and PCI will be eligible provided they have scored not less than 50% of the maximum marks (Aggregate of 4 years).
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates for admission to first year of the Master of Pharmacy Post-Graduate Degree
course shall be required to have passed the B.Pharmacy Degree of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent there to by the authority of this University.
The Course comprises of 2 parts:
Part I- 3 Specialized and 1 common subject.
Part II- Dissertation work

REGULATIONS OF PHARM D. & PHARM D.(POST BACCALAUREATE) COURSEIn exercise of the powers conferred by Section 44 of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai, Act, 1987 (Tamil Nadu Act 37 of 1987), the Standing Academic Board of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai hereby makes the followingThe duration of the course shall be six academic years (Five years of study and one year of internship or residency).
ELIGIBILITY
No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the I Pharm.D degree Course until he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

Two months each in three other specialty departments.
