  • The MBA programme aims at providing inputs to the students relevant to the business, industry and trade so that they can function in different organizations and face corporate challenges. The programme not only aims at providing knowledge and skills in different areas of management, but also provides inputs necessary for the overall development of the students. In a large number of organizations, it has become an essential qualification, for it is almost impossible to get a consultancy or finance job without an MBA degree. There are also a number of companies that promote their employees only if the employees hold valid MBA degree.

    The MBA is becoming a generic qualification, relevant to job or career prospects, further it is also an indicator that you are serious about your personal and professional development. An MBA is an effective way of demonstrating your suitability and commitment to senior management. It is one of the best ways for someone who has followed a technical or specialist track to show that he is ready for a senior management role.

    The structure of the programme is designed in a way that students have to study the core courses from different functional areas of management. Later, specializations are offered in functional areas where the students can opt for two specializations out of the five tracks offered: Marketing, Finance, IT, HR and International Business and one open specialization. The focus is on providing relevant inputs through case discussions/ analysis, simulation games, role plays etc. keeping in mind the current business scenario. Broadly, the course is of two years divided into four semesters, each semester having eight compulsory papers of 40 sessions each. Summer Training for 6-8 weeks is compulsory for every student pursuing the course, which they have to undergo between second and third semester. Comprehensive viva and research project are part of the curriculum.
