- The Department of Management and Humanities was established as a full-fledged department in the year of 2014. Before that, Humanities had been established with the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities right from the inception of the Institute in 2010. During 2014, Humanities was separated and merged with Management. The Department offers M.Tech programme on Appropriate Technology and Entrepreneurship (ATE) with the intake of 30 students every year. This course is, first time in India, taught in collaboration with National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad and is designed to help students to become entrepreneurs, so that they can create jobs rather than they run after jobs. The Department also provides Online MBA programme (first time in India among all NITs) for 2.5 years from the academic year 2014-2015. ICT based classes are being conducted for the Online MBA programme. The Department is also offering Ph.D. programme. The Department has a state of the art Professional Communication Laboratory with the objectives of developing and refining the language skills of our students. It has its own software packages for training. The Department also offers different foreign language courses for the undergraduate students
