History of The Department :
The Department of CSE is one of the thriving departments of RGMCET, moving ahead with sincere efforts and dedication. The Department offers B.Tech, M.Tech(CS) and MCA Programmes.
The Department Portfolio :
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, established in the year 1995-96 with an intake of 40 and now it raised to 120. The CSE department was established to impart relevant quality education to the students, to groom them to be conscious researchers, technologists, professionals and good citizens, bearing torch for disseminating knowledge in masses for sustainable socio-economic development of the society.
It has well qualified teaching and non-teaching staff members. It has three professors with Ph.D degree in CSE and six of the teaching staff have registered in various Research areas and for Ph.Ds in JNT University, Anantapur.
Facts and Figures :
This department is equipped with the state-of-the-art computer laboratories required to cater to the needs of undergraduate and post graduate programmes. It has well equipped lab facilities with 100 Mbps leased line internet connectivity. The department is equipped with “Video Lectures” procured from IIT Kharagpur. Currently, the department has video lectures on 155 different courses that are being taught at both UG and PG levels. These lectures are available through an Intranet service managed by the department.
The Alumni of this department are occupying high positions in Software companies such as TCS, Infosys, HP,IBM etc. in India and abroad. More than 80% of the students of this department are placed in reputed National and International organizations through campus recruitments. The department is involved in successful organization of several National seminars, Workshops, and student paper contests. The department is actively involved in modernization and development of the laboratories with World Bank project, Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (T E Q I P ). In the last two years, the department has conducted six training programs under “service to community”.
