HUMANITIES & SCIENCES- PROFILE (Estd. in 1980)
The Department has a Vision to make the students especially those hailing from rural areas speak without any inhibitions good english and develop managerail skills with its pedagogical outfit.
The department of Humanities which includes English, Economics, Management and Accountancy serves the needs of the core curriculum. The department offers a couple of courses to impart communication skills and language proficiency for students, and grammar classes for the staff. The department also conducts tutorial classes for students hailing from rural background. It is proposed to set up a language laboratory for the benefit of students appearing for GRE and TOEFL.
Department of Physics
Physics is the backbone of every engineering science. The department is manned by two well experienced doctorates with varied fields of specialization. The curriculum of physics is well designed so as to suit the learning of advancements in engineering. The knowledge of fundamentals forms the basis for the newer emerging areas like super conductivity, semiconductors, lasers, opto electronic devices and the like.
Department of Chemistry
Chemistry is the organism of every branch of engineering. The department is well equipped with senior faculty. The department provides good training in diverse fields such as electro chemistry, corrosion, water treatment, pollution, polymers etc. The learning of these aspects is essential for the selection of engineering materials in construction, fabrication, town planning etc.
Department of Physical Education
Physical education is as important as any other education. Sparing an hour a day at play field lessens the fatigue of the mind and keeps it afresh.
Knowing the importance of this education and well aware of the proverb ‘A sound mind in a sound body’ the management is generously allocating funds for the department of physical education. The college has the unique distinction of its own by having 10 acres of land for play fields which encompass two badminton courts, two volley ball Courts, one tennikoit court, one basket ball court, one throw ball court, one tennis court and two cricket grounds with well laid pitch. A 400mt. Track is laid on the campus. Facilities for running races, throws, jumps etc., are provided.
Considerable facilities for indoor games like table tennis, carroms, chess etc., are provided in a spacious room. The college feels proud to announce that quite a large no. of students have represented at state and National level. Their outstanding performance at the games is properly rewarded by the management with cash and prize. Students’ participation from this college representing the university at Inter-university meets is the hall mark of the institution.
Proficiency of the students in various events is being identified constantly and the students are encouraged by arranging proper coaching with qualified coaches drawn from District Sports Authority and university.
Besides these facilities the college has an exclusive Gymnasium so as to make the students physically fit and mentally strong.
The college many a time hosts inter-collegiate tournaments and university level tournaments for staff and students. To tap the talent of the students, Inter departmental competitions are being organized.
