Chemical Engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics) and mathematics, for the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful & valuable forms.
In addition, for producing useful materials, modern chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable techniques – such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and biomedical engineering.The TWO main sectors in this field are:-
- Production of Chemical Products:
- The knowledge of chemistry is combined with engineering for the production of chemical products needed by the society and related by-products. The work areas varies from petroleum and petrochemicals to food processing, special chemicals, explosives etc.
- Maintenance of Chemical Plants:
- It involves the invention, development, design, operation and management of processes and equipments in industries involving various chemical processes. Chemical engineer provides modern high quality material that are essential for running an industry economy.

XII with : 1. Phy + Maths + (Chem. / Comp. Sc./Bio) with Min. 60% OR 60% with qualified rank in UPSEE-15.Eligibility-2nd Year
Direct Admission : 1. Rank in SEE-UPTU-15 Phy + Maths + (Chem. / Comp. Sc./Bio) with Min. 60% OR 60% with qualified rank in & 2. Diploma in Engg. With at least 60% or B. Sc (with Maths) with at least 60%.- Production of Chemical Products:
