Electronics and Communication Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering is a pioneering branch amongst all the Engineering branches. The ECE department strongly emphasizes on fundamentals as well as analysis, to make students creative and to understand the latest technologies. The department is equipped with advanced lab facilities to produce a stream of ebullient students. Department of Electronics and Communication is a WBUT and AICTE recognized course. Undergraduates take Industry Oriented Mini Project at the end of third year of the four year program. Further, the students shall pursue one semester of faculty-supervised independent study, working either on a project of their own choice or on a faculty-sponsored research project. The innovative nature of the project challenges the students intellectual bent of mind. The future of this branch is filled with limitless opportunities in industry, research and education.

The vision of the ECE Department is to become a internationally leading center of higher learning, and a center of research and education generating the knowledge and the technologies that will produce high quality engineering professional who will shape the future in the fields of electronics and communication engineering.

Department of Electronics and Communication has a vision to become a leading research centre in ECE discipline. The research facilities to be added in near future are Research labs in Advanced Embedded Systems, Low Power VLSI Design and Optical communication.
TYPES OF COURSES IN ECE DEPARTMENT:
B.tech :The duration of this course is four academic years and conducted in 8 semesters.
M.Tech(Microelectronics and VLSI Design): The degree is extended over a period of two academic years, with each academic year comprising of 2 semesters.
