    ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONCIS

  • Course Course Code Duration B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) EE 4 Years M.Tech in Power Electronics & Power Systems (PEPS) EE 2 Years M.Tech in Energy Systems (ES) EE 2 Years Electrical & Electronics Engineering @ a glance EEE @ a glance Electrical Engineers are the mainstay of every engineering activity. The power diverse spheres of activity range from the generation of power, right down to the distribution level. Electrical Engineering has for long accommodated two disciplines  Power and Communication. Power engineers have concentrated on the infrastructural realm power generation, transmission, distribution, equipment design (rotating & static), electrical drives, turn-key projects, consulting, etc. Communication engineers design, control and maintain instrumentation, control, data acquisition, metering accessories among others. This domain spans aerospace, automotive, chemical, metallurgical fields to list a few. The strong emphasis on advanced mathematical tools that courses through their syllabus, lends them an acute sense of detail. This gives them strong interdisciplinary skills, cutting across several knowledge base. Power EngineeringThe last two decades have given rise to new varieties of opportunities like design and application of Solar Photo-Voltaic cells, fuel cells, energy efficient drives, wind conversion turbines, etc. Application engineers play a major role in the design of systems catering to all these areas. They work closely with all streams of engineering such as mechanical, aeronautical, chemical and electronics to address a wide range of interdisciplinary issues. The gamut of their activities is incredible. In fact, they are often the main arm of several EPC organizations. The EEE Department is dedicated to delivering competent electrical engineers to the work place. They are outfitted with core technical knowledge as well as professional skills necessary to face the challenges of the future. The highly committed faculty and staff are fully geared up towards this end. B.Tech  Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Energy SystemsElectrical Engineering forms the application of the laws of Physics governing electricity, magnetism, and light to develop new technologies in helping mankind. The Electrical Engineering discipline has its esoteric side, with electrical engineers being involved in the generation, protection, transmission, distribution and application of electrical energy. However, on the mundane side, they are also involved in that aspect that lights our homes, cooks our food and drives our machinery. They also make very important contributions in telecommunication, television, computer technology, medicine, education, space exploration, defense and other critical sectors of our society. Many scientific fields depend on electrical engineers for their design, analysis and maintenance. Engineers who specialize in Electrical and Electronics engineering are concerned with the design and analysis of controllers, power converters that eventually help in obtaining the desired characteristics of electromechanical systems. Today, Electrical engineering has a wide reach in all spheres of technology. As an Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at AJCE, you will work closely with top-ranked faculty and gain the fundamental knowledge and theories that govern modern Electrical engineering. M.Tech  Power Electronics and Power Systems (PEPS) PEPSThe M.Tech Programme in Power Electronics and Power Systems offered by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering , Dept. of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the M.G. University, Kottayam, Kerala. It spans 2 years(four semesters), the first and second semesters devoted to theory, seminar and laboratory sessions. The third semester is an amalgam of theory courses, industrial visits and a mini-project. The fourth semester is dedicated to a full-scale project. Every student is required to submit a thesis/dissertation based on the project undertaken in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of the Masters Degree.
