- WHAT IS CIVIL ENGINEERING?
Civil engineering is a broad field of engineering that deals with the planning, construction, and maintenance of fixed structures as they related to earth, water, or civilization and their processes. Most civil engineering today deals with roads, structures, water supply, sewer, flood control, or traffic.
ABOUT DEPARTMENT
The Department of Civil Engineering has been established in the College since the year 2009 - 2010 with an annual intake of 60 students. In tune with the growing demand profile globally for CIVIL, the intake level was enhanced to 120 from this academic year 2012. Since inception, the Department of Civil Engineering has been imparting knowledge in `General Engineering Concepts` and `Studies` in `Civil Engineering`. With the concurrent acquisition of technical skills in labs, inspiration and awakening of the young minds by vibrant teachers, the students are engaged intellectually, in the college. These critical contributions lead the students to explore and discover the wonders of their minds, which in turn synergize together and enable the students transform themselves to become true engineers and technologists.
Irrespective of their branch of study for specialization, students are guided in the first year to explore new ideas through original thinking and discover new layers of knowledge and abilities, in Mathematics, Sciences and in Engineering and Technology. With character, dedication, brilliance, effectiveness and enthusiasm, they become capable and also analytical in their approach and transform themselves as Engineering Professionals of the future, with ethics.
Beyond these basics, study of Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Solid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering and Sciences being relevant for Civil Engineering and Technology, are taught in the First Year, Second Year, Third Year and in Final Year of study with a focus as per syllabus of JNTU Kakinada.

To develop and sustain the core competence, excellence as well as core strength in the Department, so as to critically contribute and be supportive as a part of an Institution of eminence and standing at the university level.
To render services to meet the growing global challenges of engineering Industries and organizations by educating students to become exemplary professionals.
To actively participate in the development of technical manpower and physical infrastructure for enhancing the country`s credibility and stature as an economically Developed Nation.
MISSION
To evolve strategies for performance planning in the Department, pursue Interdisciplinary projects and also take a leading role in shaping the Institution for realization of its Vision.
To impart Engineering Knowledge, ability and skills in the young minds, develop their habits for critical thinking and achieve excellence in performance of the students.
To develop state-of-the-art resource center using the latest technology for dissemination of education-related information.
OUR FUTURE PLANS
To start a course in M.Tech. Civil Engineering and take up consultancy work.
To make critical and specific contributions and realize the objectives of the department and in turn of the Institution, as an Institution of eminence and repute at the University level.
