Mechanical engineering is the application of physical principles to the creation of useful devices, objects and machines. Mechanical engineers use principles such as heat, force, and the conservation of mass and energy to analyze static and dynamic physical systems, in contributing to the design of things such as automobiles, aircraft, and other vehicles, heating and cooling systems, household appliances, industrial equipment and machinery, weapons systems, etc.
ABOUT DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in the year 2011 with an annual intake of 60 students. In tune with the growing demand profile globally for MECHANICAL, the intake level was enhanced to 120 from this academic year 2012. The Department comprises of a dedicated, zealous and dexterous team of staff members with doctorates and post graduates in the fields of Thermal Engineering, Engineering Design, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering and Computer Aided Design, Automobile Engineering and Operations Management.
The well equipped laboratories fulfill all the curricular requirements. Crowning the laboratories in the Mechanical Department is CAD / CAM laboratory, housed in 3000 square feet, with fifty workstations having advanced CAD / CAM / CAE software and CNC Trainer lathe and machines.

MISSION
- To impart quality education and state-of-the-art training to the students in the fundamentals and concepts of `Mechanical Engineering` in undergraduate, post-graduate and Doctoral level so as to generate knowledge based technical manpower with a high degree of integrity and ethical standards.
OUR FUTURE PLANS
- To start a course in M.Tech. Mechanical Engineering and take up consultancy work.
- To make critical and specific contributions and realize the objectives of the department and in turn of the Institution, as an Institution of eminence and repute at the University level.
