    About The Department:

Mechanical Engineering is the mother of all branches. The contribution of this branch is enormous in the growth of technology over the centuries. The scope of B.Tech courses varies from Material Reseach to Machinery Development, Nanotechnology, Smart Materials, Aerospace Technology, Missiles Technology, CAD/CAM, FMS, CIM, Automation and such other interrelated developments.

The faculty have specializations in the areas of Design, Thermal, Production and Industrial engineering, i.e., the major areas of Mechanical Engineering. Additional training is imparted to students on Personality Development and other soft-skills relevant to industry needs.Visits to industries in and around Visakhapatnam are regularly arranged. The Department has a team of dedicated ,well qualified and experienced faculty.

    Machine Design
Machine Design Program is designed to equip students for professional careers in the Design Departments of heavy engineering Industry, Research Laboratories and Defense Organizations. Advanced subjects like Fracture Mechanics, Advanced Finite Element Methods, Industrial Tribology, Reliability Engineering and Nanotechnology courses strengthen the students knowledge for the efficient designs with optimum material utilization. After the completion of this course the students are well equipped with the areas of mechanisms, design synthesis and machine dynamics which are helpful for them to join in research organizations like ISRO, DRDO and Public Sector companies.
    Industrial Engineering
Industrial engineering is a branch of engineering dealing with the optimization of complex processes or systems. It is concerned with the development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, money, knowledge, information, equipment, energy, materials, analysis and synthesis, as well as the mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems or processes. Its underlying concepts overlap considerably with certain business-oriented disciplines such as operations management.
