- Electrical & Electronics EngineeringElectrical and Electronics EngineeringDepartment of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering in Vignan Institute of Technology and Science right from its inception during 1999 with an intake of 60 Students and it also offering Post graduate programme in Power Electronics and Electrical Drives from the Academic year 2012-2013 with an intake of 18 students.Mandate of the DepartmentTo prepare industry ready graduates with global standards. The preparation is by way of Conducting Training Programs and workshops in cutting edge technologies at regular intervals on a continuing basis.Adaptation of modern teaching-learning practices to promote student centric learning.To develop interaction with industry and establish self sustainable centers of excellence in the areas of “Power Electronics and Drives”, “Power System Analysis” and “Special Machines and Control.”.The Department is manned with well qualified faculty strength of 15 members Many faculty publishes several papers in reputed international journals and conferances. Some of his colleagues are in the verge of completion of their doctoral Thesis.The Department is having the state-of- art laboratories equipped with good quality equipment.The learning experience of students of Department, as learnt through alumni meetings has been quite pleasant, encouraging. Besides academic learning from peers, learning through interaction with outside experts through various professional societies like IEEE, ISTE and prestigious organizations like BHEL,HBL and IIT-Hyderabad has given our students an edge above the contemporary students from other institutions.The placement record has been almost 100 percent with remunerations touching Rs 4.25 lakhs per annum. Some of the major companies who recruited our students include SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, INFOTECH, GGK Technologies, Infosys, Accenture, Tech Mahindra , Coca-Cola, etc.The major events of Department are activities of EDISONS Club, Fresher’s day, farewell function, valedictory and Alumni meetings etc.,In summary, a pleasant experience awaits the prospective students seeking admission into the EEE department of VITS.
