Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

To inculcate the basic knowledge guided by applications and scientific temper and to enhance the competitive skills among the students to face challenges of the insatiable demand for Electronics and Instrumentation in the industry” Instrumentation branch is been started in 2003 with an intake of 60 Students.

 

 Mandate of the Department

The program aims to produce quality engineers with knowledge of the latest trends and developments that are required for the ongoing technological revolution.

At the root of any Science or engineering is an instrument that measures, manipulates, stores information or controls a process. The extraordinary developments taking place in areas like Communication, Space, Medicine, Defense etc. open up large number of opportunities for engineers specializing in Electronics and Instrumentation.

The department has state-of-art equipment specially designed to improve the learning experience both theoretically and practically leading to research work in a right environment which include Transducers & Instrumentation Lab, Industrial Instrumentation Lab, Analytical Instrumentation Lab, Process Control Lab, Electronic Devices & Circuits Lab and IC Applications Lab.

Young and dynamic faculty in the department reinforced with highly experience and research oriented guidance continuously monitor the academic program of our students. Important Feature of our EIE department is continuous interaction with industry.

Many of industry experts visit the campus on a regular basis to help our students and faculty to take up industry oriented projects. Number of publications by our faculty in the recent past is a clear evidence of research orientation and expertise of our faculty.

Students of EIE are doing an excellent job in projects by doing various innovative and multidisciplinary projects by merging the concepts of Instrumentation, mechanical, electrical and electronics. Some of the projects worth to be mentioned are “Design And reduction of wattage losses in SOLAR module using AR coating, Cell-to-cell gap and thickness”, “Green house Intelligent Power Generation System”, “Medical Parameters monitoring and wireless transmission system”, “Robotic Arm”, “Sixth Sense Technology”, “Cost effective Instrumentation Meter” and so on. Most of the projects done by EIE students have won best and first prizes at various National level competitions and some are published in International and National journals.
