About Us The Department of Computer Science Engineering at Vignan s IIT has been active in teaching and research since its inception in 2002. Currently, about 55 committed faculty members are working in the department .The Department of Computer Science offers four-year under-graduate programme and two year post graduate programme in the field of Computer Science Engineering.

  Message from HOD

 

In 2002, after a gap of about 12 years, VIIT was the best private engineering college to have started CSE Department, in the Andhra Pradesh State with an intake of 60 students. The current intake is 240. The department offers two PG programmes, M.Tech(CSE) and M.Tech(SE), with an intake of 18 each. The department has well-qualified faculty and non-teaching staff and well- equipped laboratories to impart training to the students.

The pass percentage of the students has been consistently high (over 85%) in all the years. The college bagged University First Ranks in the years 2004 and 2008. Students are also imparted training on various value-added courses like NETGSE, IBM etc., Every year around 10 to 12 of our students are able to get admissions into M.Tech / M.S. program of various IITs/IISc., and in universities abroad. Alumni of the department are working in various organisations, viz., TCS, WIPRO,GAMMON India Ltd,. Faculty and staff are encouraged to improve their qualifications. Two faculty have completed their Ph.Ds after joining the college, and 3 more are about to submit their theses. The faculty members are are also working on both internally & externally-funded R&D projects and have published their research in various journals and conferences. All the faculty of the department are actively involved in consultancy projects, and the department has so far executed consultancy jobs to the tune of Rs. 15 Lacs .

Students of the department have brought laurels by winning prizes in various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Placement record of the department is very good and students have secured jobs in the best MNC companies of India. All these efforts have brought the department in the year 2008, 3-year accreditation by NBA and NAAC. The department conducts regularly seminars/ workshops/ symposia which provide an opportunity to the faculty and students to update their knowledge base. The department has successful collaborations with various organizations.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology programs. The undergraduate program is designed to reinforce students educational breadth with specialized areas such as Discrete Mathematical Structures, Digital Logic and Design, Object Oriented Programming, Formal Languages and Automata Theory, Computer Security, Network Security and Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics - just to name a few from a long list of exciting topics. The Masters program, rich in content, is taught by top-notch faculty from excellent universities from around the globe.Undergraduates take Industry Oriented Mini Project at the end of third year of the four year program.

The department also provides a wealth of opportunities for undergraduate as well as graduate research in computer science. Students at the college pursue research in a number of areas such as Security Algorithms, Search Algorithms, Network Security, Fuzzy Sets, and Bio-Informatics, etc. Our established coordination with international companies such as IBM and CISCO provides an unusual opportunity for advanced research both in traditional core computer science and in areas combining computer science with fields such as applied mathematics, engineering, medicine, economics, and biological sciences.

About Us The Department of Information Technology at Vignans IIT has been active in teaching and research since its inception in 2004. Currently, about 15 committed faculty members are working in the department .The Department of Information Technology offers four-year under-graduate programme and two-year post graduate programme in the field of Information Technology.

  Message from HOD

 The department of Information Technology was started in the year 2002 with the state of art infrastructural facilities right from its inception. It is continuously thriving to impart quality education and competitive spirit among students for academic excellence. The continuous University ranks in competitive exams such as GATE,GRE,TOFFEL,IELTS and Campus Placements achieved by the students indicate the aspiration of our department.

 The department has made a significant progress within few years. The objective of the department is developing the logical thinking through problem solving among the students and training the students in latest technologies as per the industrial needs. The department contains efficient and eminent faculty & senior faculty mostly with B.Tech and M.Tech backgrounds.
