The Mechanical Engineering Department of BIT, Durg is one of the largest in terms of students. Faculties & activities, continues to lead 8i expand its activities in various directions. Fittingly called the "Evergreen Branch" the field. One of the first four departments established in the college, the department has carved a niche as one of the finest in the region it provides learning blended with excellence, to create leaders for tomorrow
The department hosts a diverse Si talented mix of faculty members Si technical staff. The department is fueled by highly qualified 8i experienced faculty members in all streams of Mechanical Engineering. An interactive relationship is maintained between the students & Faculty members which enable the students to develop a sound foundation which is an essential trait of a good Mechanical Engineer. This creates an excellent ambience to foster creativity, the results of which can be seen in campus selections. The department has consistently maintained an exemplary campus recruitment record. Most of our students proceed to pursue their higher education in either engineering of management streams.
The department is boasting of its fully modernized present state-of-the-art laboratories to carry out practical courses as well to carry our R&D and consultancy activities.
To cater to the need of the students of Post Graduate program a good number of Design based software are under use. Few of them to mention are: ANSYS, AUTOCAD, PRU-E, CATIA, Solidworks, SIMUL-8 etc. The departmental library serves the need of the students and faculty for carrying out their studies, project work and R & D activities.
