The department has already made wireless connectivity available in the institute campus, thereby providing the students the latest Wi-Fi technology to access internet anywhere in the campus & hostel by using their laptops.
HOD Message: As the head of Computer Science & Engineering Department, I am Extremely happy to bring out this message that our college is going for his first ever souvenir release Technical News Magazine "Technokite".
Technology, teaching, training are the pillars of our department, importing the latest technical knowledge to the student and cultivation, nurturing the same in the right way will make our students competent in the competitive world.
"Technokite" offers a existing platform for the students as well as faculty members to exhibit the knowledge they posses and a good change to develop the same.
I congratulate and thank all the students and staff who have make tiring efforts to bring out of this souvenir and wish them all success.
Summary of Workshops and Event Conducted by Department
1. Vocational Training: A one month Vocational training for 2nd year student was conducted by CSE department in collaboration with ACME Technology. The students were given exposure to Java and DOT NET technology. Almost 50 students participated in this program.
2. Educational Trip: A one week educational trip was conducted by CSE department for 3rd year students. Almost 30 students participated in this.
3. Departmental Social Networking Site: A departmental social networking site "KITEKONNECT" was developed by final year students.
4. Workshop on Ethical Hacking and Information Security: The CSE department of KITE has organized a national level workshop on `ethical hacking and information security` in collaboration with TECH DEFENCE and IIT MUMBAI on 9th & 10th of September 2011. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Vidit Baxi one of the trainer of TECH DEFENCE team India. He had enlightened the views of the students about ethical hacking and information security. There were around 250 students from all over Chhattisgarh.

Courses Offered
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is equipped with up-to-date state-of-art lab setups, accessories, modern class rooms and independent laboratories, backed up by adequate faculty strength as per AICTE norms. The Department offers a wide range of practical training and exposure to both software and hardware that have industry and trade applicability. There are more than 400 computers with the latest LAN/WAN configuration, networked with five IBM servers, Fiber Optic Network Backbone for connectivity providing users access to the Internet and Intranet facilities, with online backup by maintainance free UPS. The department provides B.E. and M.Tech* programme to students.
