B.E (Instrumentation Engineering) Duration: 4 Years Intake: 60 Seats
The Department of Instrumentation was established in the year 1983 with sanctioned intake of 30 along with the establishment of institute. Realizing the huge requirement by government & private organizations and industries, based on global projections, the department applied for starting the UG program in Instrumentation engineering with intake of 60 in 1999-2000.The department is well equipped with good infrastructure which consists of class room with multimedia facility, well developed laboratories with state-of-the–art equipments, learning software and departmental library etc. The high end equipments available for UG students include laboratory trainers, tutors, PLC, SCADA trainer, DCS, MATLAB software, Lab-View software etc. to carryout projects in various areas of Instrumentation. The internet and LAN facility with 10 Mbps is available in Computer lab, Microcontroller-Lab, Advanced automation Lab, Process Instrumentation & control Lab, Basic instrumentation Lab, Transducer & measurement Lab, Instrumentation system design & project lab and also to all faculty members cabins. The support staff is qualified and is given an in-house training to develop them for maintaining laboratory equipments as well as for smooth conduct of laboratory sessions.
Students from final year secure ranks in university merit list; such students are encouraged by the institute by awarding them cash prizes as a token of appreciation. The department has produced about 1500 graduates so far out of which about 70% are having good positions in the reputed organizations. 50% to 60% students get on campus placement while 20-30% students get off campus placement after the final year of their graduation. About 10% students went for higher studies.
The department is very active in organizing extra-curricular and cocurricular activities with the students’ organization“Instrumentation Engineering Students Association (ISA)”. Every year the department organizes a paper presentation event and Contraption (Performing maximum number of Energy conversion to complete a given task in least possible time) event in “Nirmiti” for which the department has been receiving an overwhelming response from the students of our college as well as of other colleges. An annual gathering helps them to exhibit their cultural and artistic skills while an annual alumni meet helps them to meet the seniors placed in various organizations and get the guidelines from them to prepare themselves for placements.
