- About IT DepartmentIT Programme was started in the year 2000 with an intake of 60 students under CSE Department. IT Department was formed in the year 2004 with IT Programme. The department has well qualified, experienced, young and dynamic faculty members. The entire faculty is with M. Tech. There is one Ph.D. in the department and others are pursuing. One of the faculty members is also providing research guidance for Ph.D. work. The department also has sufficient well qualified and experienced technical and supporting staff.The department has three dedicated computer labs. Each computer lab is with a server and 30 latest high end branded computer systems. Each computer is supported with 30 minutes power back up and 30 mbps internet connectivity. Electronics labs are being shared with ECE Dept.Till now 9 batches came out with not less than 95 pass percentage. Four times the pass percentage was 100%. Every year our students achieve positions in top 10 university ranks. 2011 batch students achieved I, II, V, VII, and X ranks and 2010 batch students achieved I, II, III, VIII, and IX ranks.Almost all the eligible students get campus placements. Some get 2, 3, 4 or 5 placements. To the credit of our students, 8 were placed out of total 9 JP MORGAN CHASE, in CBIT, for 2011-12. In the year 2005, Mr. Arun Reddy got all India first rank in GATE-2005. Many of our students are also pursuing PG programmes in reputed national and international universities. Last year, our students published 05 research technical papers in various international journals.The department organizes several training programmes for both students and faculty,in the last three years the department has organized the following programs
(i) Certification in Information Technology (CIT) Programme in association with IIIT, Hyderabad under MHRD, Govt.of India.
(ii) Infosys Campus Connect-Foundation Programme (FP) in association with Infosys.
(iii) Wipro Jump Start-II, a three week technical training programme for campus selected candidates in Wipro to make them industry ready. The candidates are from the Osmania University college of engineering, Vasavi college of engineering and CBIT.
(iv) Our faculty members are trained in Wipro-Mission 10X programme and are very actively involved in contributing sharing innovations in teaching methods with the faculty all over India.
(v) The department organized a two-Day National workshop on “Research Opportunities in Computer Science and Information Technology” on 27th & 28th Jan, 2012 by inviting eminent research personalities from various universities. It received a very good response with 103 faculty member’s participation.
(vi) Further, the department also organizing a "National Conference on Recent Trends in IT"(NCRTIT-13) on 23rd & 24th Jan, 2013.
(vii) Since the formation of IT department, TECSTASY, a national level technical symposium for students has been organized under IT Association by inviting students, faculty and industry from all over India. TECSTASY organizes various events like technical paper contests,project presentations, workshops, quizzes, virtual placements,etc., to bring out hidden talents, innovations, etc.
