  • The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1998. The department offers B.E. in Computer Sc. and Engineering, M.Tech (Computer Networks) and Ph.D. degree in various specializations of the discipline. The backbone of the department is quality research, experienced faculty members and latest infrastructure.

Support the professional development of all faculty members in the areas of teaching and research. Infrastructure upgradation in sync with emerging technologies Courses Offered By The Department Ph. D (Computer Science and Engineering) Department is recognized as Research Center For offering PhD program in Computer Science and Engineering by Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai. The programme focuses on original research that can lead to publications in premier conferences or journals. Students are required to do some courses in the first semester and then move on completely to research. PEOs of PhD (Computer Science and Engineering) To have an in-depth knowledge of a sub-area of Computer Science and able to publish papers in reputed journals and conferences Demonstrate their ability to further the frontier of knowledge in at least one sub-area of Computer Science and capable of guiding other researchers and able to acquire sponsored projects for the development of nation Develop ethics and abilities for effective communication as researchers and educators. M. Tech (Computer Networks) The M. Tech (Computer Networks) is a two year programme, where the first three semesters are spent doing courses. Preliminary project work starts in the third semester and the fourth semester is completely allocated for project. The project typically has a strong research component. Students of this department are prepared to excel as competent computer professionals, pursue advanced degrees, and possess technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, creativity and ethical values needed to promote peace, prosperity and growth in society. With a strong technical background, students of our department excel in placements every year. PEOs of M.Tech (Computer Networks) To produce networking engineers who are able to apply knowledge of computer networks and engineering to evaluate, analyze and synthesize existing and new complex networking problems. Students will have sufficient depth of understanding in Computer Networks and Engineering, confidence, professionalism, ethics and experience necessary for successful careers in Computer Networks and related fields. Students are prepared to pursue research career in advanced areas of Computer Networks, Network Security, Cloud computing and related areas. BE (Computer Science and Engineering) The Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering) program has been offered at BIT, Durg since 1998. The motto is to prepare students for professional careers in computing and for advanced study by giving them the following qualities: Breadth and depth of knowledge: To provide students with a solid foundation in core sciences, humanities and engineering required to solve computational problems and to prepare them for industry and higher learning. Learning with integrity: To inculcate in students professional and ethical values, communication skills, teamwork, continuous learning and ability to apply computers to serve the society at large. Domain prospects: Graduates are prepared to apply technical computing skills with strong logic for successfully executing software/hardware related projects to meet global customer requirements. Diversification: To promote among students the ability to gain multidisciplinary knowledge through projects and industrial training leading to a sustainable competitive edge in research and development.
